The day started with a recap of the Greensburg Concert at KACY-FM with Marshall Ice. After giving a report, Marshall played a song from the winning band, Shuga Daddy, on the air, asking if Shuga Daddy could come to the station before their winning trip to California in February. Shuga Daddy will be the new ambassadors of X-It Rite Records in Arkansas City and Ponca City, Oklahoma where Shuga Daddy is from. Marshall also asked if Shuga Daddy could come back after the shows in California to give a report. Jsaon and Javelyn felt that this experience with Greensburg and Arkansas City, Kansas is only the beginning of something special.
All in all, it was a great feeling recapping all of the good people who helped out the Greensburg Benefit Concert - from Jake Willoughby of Willoughby’s Music in Greensburg who came and stayed morning until late at night with his crew, to Guitar Center, Wichita who donated lots of equipment to raffle away and lights and keyboard to borrow to the Best Western Hotel which not only housed Jason and Javelyn, but co-producer Vairon Perez and Javelyn’s drummer, Mike Coulter as well. There were many other individuals who stepped up to the plate including a guy named Daniel who helped volunteer and became Jason’s main man the day of the show - a full list of everyone will be listed on the web page as well as the end of this blog.
After stopping at the radio station, it was time to wind down for Jason and Javelyn. They spent the morning with alphamassages at a place in town, then had lunch at Sonic again (4th time this week :) - then back to the hotel for chilling and relaxing and catching up on stuff.
Nighttime brought them back to the original spot where everything seemed to happen the first night leading to Greensburg - The Red Zone. The Red Zone had sloppy joes they were serving and amazing margaritas, so Jason and Javelyn ate up and met some interesting people. Javelyn spoke with the owner of the club and was inspired to see that she worked with another club in sending people to each other. Javelyn encouraged the owner to be inspired by the Greensburg Benefit and think about bringing some music events or opening up their venue to music to attract more locals and visitors and maybe even more of an income to town if they started doing events.
Who knows what the future holds??????
